Center for Leadership

Find your voice. Make a difference.

Starting in fifth grade, St. Luke's students begin to learn and practice what it means to be ethical and empathetic leaders. Year by year, capabilities increase and the confidence to lead grows. Students build skills that open the door to authentic leadership: effective speaking and listening, social and emotional agility, creative problem-solving, and collaboration.

Our Distinct Approach to Leadership

Leading with Humanity Curriculum

St. Luke’s mission is an exceptional education that inspires a deep love of learning, a strong moral compass, the commitment to serve, and the confidence to lead.  Our Leading with Humanity curriculum emphasizes the development of moral character alongside leadership skills, fostering the ability to lead, collaborate, and empathize with others.

The Leading with Humanity curriculum advances with students as each year's course builds on previous years' learning. In Middle School, students learn about themselves before seeking to lead, and focus on how they might improve facets of their own community. As they grow and move into Upper School, students build a deep foundation of leadership skills and experiences and begin to understand their potential to better the wider world. By the time students graduate, the Confidence to Lead with Humanity has become part of who they are.

St. Luke's leadership education is strengthened by three essential principles—Global Perspective, Service Orientation, and Inclusive Ethos—we equip our students with the tools to navigate complexities and thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

Leadership Experiences: Hands On Learning That Lasts

Imagine learning how to launch a concept—from a mere glimmer of an idea to pitching potential investors— before you've even left high school. Signature leadership experiences connect students with powerhouses from diverse fields including business, arts, and philanthropy. In one student's words: "This was like the real world."
